winsome

windows 7 I refer to . "charming in a childlike or naive way "
Took the release candidate for a test drive under parallels 4.0 on Mac OSX. It was a PITA to get the networking going, had to use XP compatibility mode.
So far the only app I've used is IE8 and that is snappy and the gestures on the mac trackpad work on. MOre later once I get a bit of a handle on it. c ya!

We've managed to get a little closer to the nub

Crashing is unsafe...

So today the NTSB appears to be blaming the DC train crash on an antiquated train. Apparently there wouldn't have been so many deaths if the train hadn't been so antiquated.

I say there'd have been no deaths if they hadn't crashed. The crash was the problem not the age of the trains.
Seems to me they should be figuring out what happened to the warning systems designed to prevent just such an accident.

inflation

158 Megabytes for a Java update under Mac OS X? wtf? that's huge! I still can't get used to inflation...in my mind I'm still going to the movies for a nickle and gas is still $0.20/gal

Late Friday

There seemed few available blogspot names left to pick from but I did find souciant, sotted, dissentious and pecune available but picogram is much more succint :)
